Good morning troopers!

I've got news to share Smile
I went to rheummy dept yesterday (it was my birthday lovely present!!!)
They'd warned me my consultant was skiing somewhere else...

I'm afraid the knees horrible
So decided to go anyway

Well!
I'm so glad
So very glad I did

I told her my tale of woe
The knee is irredeemably shot, it needs replacing
The aneamia is still there
The tummy investigation results inconclusive
The pre op team say I need more tests and treatment before surgery be considered

The results chasing via my gps has been stressful

The GP appt isn't available now to even talk to me about the tummy investigations
Oh! It's been stressy!

But
The reg had a look on the computer
My duodenum is swollen and that's down to the ra
So the iron isn't been absorbed
She's explained it's the RA

Therefore- I can have a blood transfusion and be fit for surgery

She's dictating the letter straight away

She wants me to have the knee replaced ASAP
It's horrible in that knee!

To tide me over I've had a huge depo injection
So was high as a kite :-)

How can your GP not be available? Are they refusing to see you? Surely, they can't do that?

They've got no appointments
For results of investigations there is a policy you must see your own GP
This is for continuity
Which I can appreciate

But it takes soooooo long
It's weeks to wait
So I asked to have a phone consultation but even those are booked up !

Hi Jenni

Happy Birthday for yesterday!

Glad that you had a helpful appointment. Getting to see your gp is a pain my surgery's almost as bad.

Take care and good luck with the op
